Treatment Approaches

At Self Care Psychiatry, a variety of treatment approaches are utilized to best meet your unique needs, including:

    Medical Management
    Initial assessments last 60 minutes, and follow-ups are provided in 25-minute sessions, with monitoring occurring once every month or up to six months, depending on need.

    Psychotherapy
    Sessions last 50 minutes and can be scheduled weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Whether you have problems to solve, past traumas to work through, or simply want to know yourself better, talk therapy can be a healing and enlightening experience.

    Brief Stabilization Treatment:
    If appropriate, we provide consultation and treatment with the goal of returning care to your Primary Care Physician once your symptoms are stabilized.

Treatment for Professionals
Dr. Self specializes in providing care for physicians & surgeons, lawyers, CPAs, grad students, psychotherapists, engineers & energy industry professionals who are experiencing burnout, addiction, anxiety, PTSD, or mood disorders. Your safety and confidentiality are paramount, and together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan based on your individual needs.

Treatment for Runners
A former marathon runner, Dr. Self offers treatment that aligns with your training program, respects competition rules, and enables peak performance. In addition to addressing common concerns like depression, anxiety, addiction and disordered eating, Dr. Self can also help you address issues like Overtraining Syndrome, or even just help you achieve your finish line goal.

Medical Student & Resident Consulting
Dr. Self is available to provide consulting services to medical students who are seeking career counseling, ERAS residency application advice, interview preparation and Rank Order List guidance for Match Day. She also enjoys working with residents, providing career advice and options. Pre-medical students will also find consulting with Dr. Self to be helpful and informative.
